Start Location: Same as the May hunt, Family Fair Lot at 28th Avenue and Port Sheldon in Hudsonville.
The fox will be within 10 airline miles of the start.
Lowest mileage wins.
Maximum Fox Hunt Time of 2 hours.
Fox will be using transmitting 1 minute ON, 3 minutes OFF.
Fox will be located in a car or van, on publicly accessible land or water.
The Fox antenna will remain in a fixed position for the duration of the hunt.

Our starting point for the May Foxhunt is one of our favorite spots along the Hudsonville/Jenison Township line. It's impossible to guess where the fox will be hiding, because there are just too many good spots all around to choose from. Our fox for the hunt will be K8AJ, also one of our favorites.

Hunt Start: 9:00 AM
Meet along the 28th Avenue side of the parking lot and up by the
corner.

be lots of room to spread-out for the initial readings.

Hunt Description and Rules
This hunt will follow the Michigan Fox Hunter rules for a 'basic 2-meter fox hunt' except as noted in this description of the 'Spring Fling' fox hunt. Should the two sets of rules conflict, this Spring Fling set of special rules will be used.

Special Rules for the May Foxhunt

July 16th 2011. Start at 9:00 promptly.
Start Location: Same as the April and May hunt, Family Fair
Lot at 28th Avenue and Port Sheldon in Hudsonville.
The fox will be within 10 airline miles of the start.
Lowest mileage wins.
Maximum Fox Hunt Time of 2 hours.
Fox will be transmitting, 1 minute ON, 3 minutes OFF.
Fox will be located in a car or van, on publicly accessible land or water.
The fox antenna will remain in a fixed position for the duration of the hunt.
Hunt Frequency will be 145.53 unless otherwise defined at the start site.

July 16th Fox Hunt
This hunt was really a lot of fun! A super way to spend a Saturday morning. Chuck Nowak showed a lot of creativity in
his planning. From the ideal selection of a starting time early enough for cool temperatures to
a clever destination, this was really a neat hunt. In one interesting twist, Chuck specified that
he was going to use a stationary antenna during the hunt. What he didn't say was that he was going to
place his mag mount on the side of his car. I think everyone spotted the horizontal polarity right from
the start, but we all thought it was properties of a reflected signal. There are a lot of water towers
in the Hudsonville/Jenison area.
Who would have thought that Chuck would choose to hide at John Meyer, K8IHY's QTH
on the top of Hudsonville Hill (880 feet above sea level). This was the starting point for the August 8, 2010 Fox Hunt.
Everyone found out how much harder it was to hunt back UP the hill. With all the hills and valleys, we lost
the signal several times climbing up from 28th Avenue and Port Sheldon.
It is going to be hard to beat
this hunt with the August hunt. We are all eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next fox hunt.
